The Tagore dance film trilogy is Inner Eye’s celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. It comprises Obhi Chatterjee’s widescreen film versions of Tagore’s classic dance-dramas Shyama, Chandalika and Chitrangada by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. All three films star Kaberi Chatterjee in the title roles.

Shyama was shown at the 2009 Kolkata Film Festival and the 2010 Ourense Film Festival. The DVD includes Bengali, English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish versions.

Chandalika had its world première on 8 May 2011 as the closing event of the Tagore weekend organised by the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust to mark the birth anniversary.

Chitrangada was filmed in January 2011 and will have its world première in late September 2012. The promotional video for the UNESCO programme Tagore, Neruda & Césaire for a reconciled universal includes an excerpt from it and elements from its soundtrack.
